“Dog parks” are a great way for dogs and their owners to get some exercise and socialize in a safe environment and Thomaston Maine has a new one just ready for Sniff-Play-Run. On the March 9, 2016 The Chris Wolf Show, we had four (2 human – Vanessa Winters and Sandy Caron, and 2 canines – Casey and Ginger) representatives from the dog park for a show and tell.

There are approximately 2,700 licensed dog owners in the immediate areas including Cushing, Friendship, Waldoboro, Warren, Rockland, and Hope. Nearest dog parks are 11 miles north to Rockport-Camden, and 48 miles south to Brunswick. The Thomaston Dog Park is available to all area residents and visitors withoutPicture charge.

Thomaston Dog Park Association is a totally volunteer organization. The town of Thomaston provided a 3+ acre property east of the town’s cemetery, but all improvement and maintenance funds must be raised by the Association. Improvements are planned but the most immediate goals is to upgrade the entrance and parking lot.

Thomaston Dog Park is located at the end of Dwight Street just down a hill from the Village Cemetery. Dwight Street is off Rte 1, across the street from the Academy Building / Thomaston Library, between the traffic lights at Knox Street and High Street.
