Launching of the Privateer “Lynx” in Rockport, ME

Featured, Going Places Video

The 85′ long sailing vessel , The Lynx, was built at Rockport Marine in Rockport, ME in 2001. The Lynx was built to be used as an educational sailing vessel, designed in the style of a privateer. This program follows the amazing journey of The Lynx from the building site at Rockport Marine up the hill from the harbor, across the Goose River Bridge, and down to the launch site at Rockport Harbor. The maneuverings required to get the Lynx to the launch site and into Rockport Marine Park are amazing to say the least. We hope you enjoy this piece of Rockport shipbuilding history.
