Join us on Monday, April 9, 2017, as we introduce Amelia Magjik, who has announced her candidacy for the vacant Rockland City Council seat.
Madjik decided to run for the council seat left vacant when the Rockland Councilor Larry Pritchett resigned. She cited her experience promoting the city’s Healthy Diversity Resolution as stimulus to run. She is also passionate about social justice, education and the environment.
Magjik is a wholistic wellness coach with roots in upstate New York. She lived in Los Angeles, California for many years before briefly exploring the Pacific Northwest and most recently moving to Maine. Amelia chose Rockland for its down-to-earth grittiness and old New England charm. She loves the Rockland lighthouse as a metaphor for “spreading the light”.
