Dear Friends,
By the time you read this I will be off and away, on an island…a warm and toasty one at that. I have managed to avoid travel since March of 2020 and this trip involves being on a plane for the first time since then!
I used to love to travel and I’ve seen a good bit of the world, but as I get a wee bit longer in the tooth, I am fully content to stay put right here, where my heart is…with the exception of an occasional cabin-fever-reliever junket with family.
In any event, I am truncating today’s “hug from Maine,” and will be playing hooky next Sunday. The gallery will be open while I’m gone, so please don’t be shy about being in touch with Terri or Sandee as needed.
While everybody else is hoping for plenty of snow for skiing, or, perhaps, sturdy ice for inland fishing (etc. etc.) I am going to be indolent in the sun, charging my batteries and pretending to be unaware of all things Maine for ten days.
Having said that, it will be difficult—nay, impossible—for me to forget the battering the coast took from the two big wind/tide events last week. It’s with that in mind that I chose Azimuth at the top of this morning’s letter. There’s more to this image than first meets the eye and if you would like to read the very short story behind it, go here.
My very, very warmest best wishes to you and yours,
Peter
