The 2023 adult Demolition Derby drew a large crowd of enthusiastic spectators and big field of determined competitors on a beautiful summer night in late July. Before the adult Demolition Derby began, a Youth Demolition Derby was held, featuring kids with small battery-powered cars attempting to pop balloons attached to the front and rear of each other’s cars.

The amateur chefs in person prepare, cook, and present their seafood creations to a panel of judges ( extra samples are made for those in the crowd who have been able to watch this whole procedure). Amateur chiefs this year came not only from Maine, but also from Colorado, New York, and South Carolina.
